Mahlee

Mahlee the Grey Bird, came to us on Friday the 13th, December 2002. We adopted her from long time dear family friends who had had Molly for 13 years.

When Mahlee came out of quarantine, she was very interested to see her new family. She had been a only bird in her first home but it was a happy and lively family with kids and she grew up among love and laughter. So she transitioned into a home with 10 other parrots like it was nothing. She never even blinked an eye. Some people persist in saying greys do not handle change well. I feel they must be raised with change in order to cope with it. Mahlee's breeder, the store who originally sold her and Mahlee's family had all socialized her and done a spectacular job, as Mahlee is an unabashed delight. She had her cage and tree to provide some familiarity. Everything else is an adventure.

Mahlee is amazingly intelligent and seems to follow conversation at times.
