"Stanley, our white bellied Caique had a terrible runny nose. We took him to the vet and ran every test possible. He tested perfectly healthy. Yet his nares were constantly clogged. After Heather questioned us regarding his cage and environment, she determined that a possible problem was his sleeping arrangements. We removed his box of sawdust and stopped drying his sleepy time towels with fabric softener. His runny nose cleared right up and we have had no problem since. She really knows caiques!"    Mrs. Junko Fong

Dear Heather,  I am excited that I no longer need to take my birds outside our home to be groomed. I no longer need to expose them to outside diseases or to pick up unacceptable behavior they may learn from other birds (such as screeching), while at other bird grooming facilities.  I find your services convenient and very reasonable.  Your entire staff is always friendly, prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Thanks for taking such great care of kids.

"Our eclectus Sam was losing feathers from the top of his head. We knew he wasn't picking there, but didn't know what the problem was. We asked Heather what she thought and she recommended we take him to the vet to be checked for Giardia. He came back positive for the parasite. We were able to cure that, but after his course of medication he started toe tapping and wing flips. Neither the bird store nor our vet had ever heard of that. We asked Heather and she recommended we pull the pellets from his diet. We did, and greatly increased his fresh veggies. His toe tapping has greatly decreased and wing flips disappeared. Heather you were right!"   Christine

Heather you are such a sweetie! I know I live so darned far away!  Anytime you can make it out this way I am home!  I trust you and the way you trim!   April Salem

As a Macaw Companion, and fellow Aviculturist - it is extremely refreshing to have worked directly with Heather.  She is extremely passionate about Aves, and one of the most knowledgeable people I know of in Aviculture.  She has been extremely helpful and patient helping me understand one of my Macaws particular Attitudes.  I recently added a wonderfully alert and active Hahn's Macaw to our family, and he has his own unique qualities that are very different then my Blue and Golds.  Heather has helped me learn how to work with the Hahn's, to bring out his most charming qualities and not reinforcing some of his less desirable ones.  ( He was previously owned, and went through a terrible bit of separation anxiety, adjusting to a new home, and competing for attention with my B&G's, whom I have had for the last 6 years, and raised from a 5 month old Girl.)  Now the Hahn's is one of the most loving sweet birds, a complete 180 degrees from what he was.
The same love and care is brought forward to her grooming also - she treats every bird as if they were her very own companions. While my birds do not always appreciate being groomed, they do not object to Heather handling them, and grooming them.    And for me, that is the final and ultimate answer - Birds can tell who another confident birds handler is, and I watch not only Heather and how she handles the Birds, but also how my birds respond to being handles by someone else.
I would openly and honestly recommend Heather's Feathers to all bird companions that I know of - unconditionally and without regret - Heather is the Best  that I know of!!!   John Mattson
